Our Wonderful Years...

Over the course of the average lifetime you meet a lot of people. Some of them stick with you through thick and thin. Some weave their way through your life and disappear forever. But once in a while someone comes along who earns a permanent place in your heart.

Brown hair, brown eyes. When she smiled, I smiled. When she cried, I cried. Every single thing that happened to me that mattered, in some way, had to do with her. After all, she was my girl. And I knew that she understood that in some small way my achievements were her achievements.

Taking a tip from Kelly...

Bravo idea from Kelly Witty:

A few of my favorite things:
  • A stop a Starbucks...for me its a treat and I love getting a coffee and a treat, whether its to start the day or a lunch time thing, not doing it all the time makes it special.
  • Tea. I love it! It has to be decaf, and I'm always looking out to try new ones, but my recent loves are: refresh by Tazo, Good Earth brand (sweet and spicy!), jasmine (not decaf, but I love how the flowers bloom in the little teapot!).
  • Cookies and Cake. Ok, I admit it...I'm a "sweet-a-holic"... I love carmel, chocolate (white, milk and dark) and pretty much sugar in general.
  • My 'sleep socks' from bath and body works. I will do a load of laundry just to have these to put on. They are so soft and warm, a must have for chilly mornings before work!
  • Multiple bath product options. This used to be a lot easier before my skin freaked out. At one point I believe I had over 10 shower gels at my disposal! I know that's a bit excessive, but a girl does need to have options. Right now, I love my philosophy "the gingerbread man" that I got for Christmas.
  • Catalog shopping. After tv, this is my guilty pleasure. I love to get them in the mail, browse them and do a little mental "wish list".
  • ABC Family channel girly movie marathons. When I was in school, I remember it being quite hard to motivate myself to do anything on Sunday. Often times I would lay on my futon and not move for hours. Now, I still do this, I just don't feel guilty about it anymore.
  • Grandma's holiday veggie tray and homemade ranch dip! Nothing says nostalgia like dipping carrots and celery into the cool ranch dip...it takes me back to the days when we fought over who would get to sit in what chair and who's turn it was to go next on Grandpa's rope swing. Ahhhhhh, the good ol' days!

That's all for now, in no particular order.

Julie
