Our Wonderful Years...

Over the course of the average lifetime you meet a lot of people. Some of them stick with you through thick and thin. Some weave their way through your life and disappear forever. But once in a while someone comes along who earns a permanent place in your heart.

Brown hair, brown eyes. When she smiled, I smiled. When she cried, I cried. Every single thing that happened to me that mattered, in some way, had to do with her. After all, she was my girl. And I knew that she understood that in some small way my achievements were her achievements.

"We have cookies!!!!"

Yesterday I stopped by my sister's house to drop off some things for my Mom and I was greeted by my nephew, shouting, "We have cookies!!!"... I think this is one of the best ways to be greeted at the door, honestly.

On the flip side of things, after running some more errands, I arrived home, to find a notice that the apartment people will be shutting off our electricity today sometime between 9 AM and 5 PM for an hour. I'm beginning to despise the "management"...today they are also checking every one's balcony for contraband after the fire incident (See the last IKEA post for more info) that forced 19 people out of their homes. We had to bring our pumpkins in this morning too.

But really, the star of this post is my Dad...check this out:

I bet that this made getting up at the crack of dawn (or earlier) totally worth it.

Am I right?
