Our Wonderful Years...

Over the course of the average lifetime you meet a lot of people. Some of them stick with you through thick and thin. Some weave their way through your life and disappear forever. But once in a while someone comes along who earns a permanent place in your heart.

Brown hair, brown eyes. When she smiled, I smiled. When she cried, I cried. Every single thing that happened to me that mattered, in some way, had to do with her. After all, she was my girl. And I knew that she understood that in some small way my achievements were her achievements.

Baby Shower...

My Mom and I hosted a baby shower for my sister a few weeks ago. Two of her friends also helped out by putting together the most amazing food spread ever! There were little finger sandwiches and veggies and cheese and crackers and the most adorable cupcakes I have ever seen.
The colors of the shower were light blue, light green, chocolate brown and tan as well as polka dots. The invitation had a cute tan teddy bear on a light green background with green polka dots and a chocolate brown boarder. I used blue ink to print them. So these teddy bear cupcakes were pure genius! I love the fondant diaper and icing pins! The chocolate covered strawberries were so delicious!
I hand painted these cute little animal clips, which I found in the dollar bin, to match my decor scheme. I love the hand stamped touches of "Prizes" and "Favors"... That was a last minute idea.
The favors were these adorable glitter boxes with coordinating Easter grass, blue or green candies and a "Pocket-Bac" from Bath and Body Works. I used Mint 3 Muskateers, Almond Joy and Hersey's Special Dark to get the candies in the right colors. The favors have a tag that say "Sweets from Shelly's Shower" on them in brown. I cut them to look like polka dots! I think they came out really sweet looking!
