Our Wonderful Years...

Over the course of the average lifetime you meet a lot of people. Some of them stick with you through thick and thin. Some weave their way through your life and disappear forever. But once in a while someone comes along who earns a permanent place in your heart.

Brown hair, brown eyes. When she smiled, I smiled. When she cried, I cried. Every single thing that happened to me that mattered, in some way, had to do with her. After all, she was my girl. And I knew that she understood that in some small way my achievements were her achievements.

Easter 2010 Wii Bowling Tournament Recap...

We decided to have another annual Holiday Wii Bowling Tournament this year at our Easter celebration!

I made up a bracket, Steven drew names for placement and since there were 11 people playing we had a bye and a "come back kid"... more on that later.

First Round:

To kick things off- Steven played Chris in the opening game:
Steven- 189
Chris- 159

Next up, Donna and Colin:
Donna- 119
Colin- 179 (with an assist from his Mom, Donna moved forward in tournament play)

The third match was Me vs. Marlene:
Julie- 139
Marlene- 144 (A close game!)

Then, in the final match of the round, Mom took on Tara:
Mom - 183
Tara- 167 *

Second Round:

Marlene vs. Donna to start the second round!
Marlene- 226
Donna- 143 ( well played for your second game ever Aunt D!)

Steven played Mom:
Mom- 171
Steven-169 (VERY CLOSE MATCH!)

Shelly entered the Tournament with a Bye and Larry forfeited to Dad in the first round:
Dad- 154
Shelly- 106

Third Round:

A battle of the Moms to open!
Mom- 168
Marlene- 142

To make things extra exciting and complicated (with 11 starting players) we had a "Come back kid" game. Tara had the highest losing score in Round 1, so she got an opportunity to come back in Round 3:
Tara- 162
Dad- 158 ( Another super close game!)

For all the marbles:

In the Championship Match, Mom vs. Tara:
Mom- 193
Tara- 187

In an ironic twist my Mom defeats Tara for the Championship Title. If you recall, her Mom (Grandma) won the Title at Thanksgiving 2009... So I wonder, does this mean I'll be the next Champion? Only time (and Wii Bowling Skills) will tell!

A big thanks to all the contestants!
