Our Wonderful Years...

Over the course of the average lifetime you meet a lot of people. Some of them stick with you through thick and thin. Some weave their way through your life and disappear forever. But once in a while someone comes along who earns a permanent place in your heart.

Brown hair, brown eyes. When she smiled, I smiled. When she cried, I cried. Every single thing that happened to me that mattered, in some way, had to do with her. After all, she was my girl. And I knew that she understood that in some small way my achievements were her achievements.

Spring Picnic

Right before Mother's Day we took a picnic and a long drive up to Crown Point. Steven's been wanting to get some shots of "Views of Oregon" for a galley wall we're working on in our house. Here are some of his shots from the Saturday:Beautiful day for photos. Vista House, up close.
Vista House and Crown Point, from the Women's Forum View Point. We also took a photo of the View Point Inn with the "long lens" for fun, but I didn't put them up here.
We stopped outside of Estacada for a picnic. People were fishing and having a good time.
Perfect sunny weekend in early May! We followed up with a trip to Troutdale for some antiquing... I'm looking for some tea cups... and Dinner at Typhoon. A perfect Springtime Saturday!

Our New Nephew! Updated!

We have a new Nephew as of this morning!

Ethan Patrick was born today at 12:45 AM. He's doing really great and I'm so excited to meet him.
So adorable!
I'm in L-O-V-E and so is everyone else...

Dad is picking me up at 11 AM. I'll post pictures when I get back from the Hospital. I'm taking the nice camera so I can see how my skillz match up on new baby pics! Will post more photos soon...

Mother's Day Cards and Things I love/hate...

I had some time on my hands and so I used my new stamp to make some "Mother's Day" cards for some dear people in our lives! I even was able to coordinate the colors of the cards with the addressing on the envelopes! Thanks to my Mom for the lovely red tulips, which were the last from her garden. :)

Things I love:
  • Planting our herb garden and using the fresh herbs in awesome recipes. I'm going to post our latest pasta one soon.
  • Friday Movie Night.
  • My new stamp.
  • Finding an awesome and perfect pink lip gloss.
Things I hate:
  • The basketball court being right outside our front door.
  • Finding out that pink lip gloss makes my throat close up and throw my allergies out of whack. Search for awesome pink lip gloss continues...

Filming Wunder...

Yesterday Steven and I got to help a friend with his latest project. He's currently filming a feature length film called "Franklin Wunder"... I'm not sure if that will end up being the title of the movie or not, but it is the name of the main character and both Steven and I got small parts in the opening scene.

Steven is "Cell Phone Guy" and I am "Laptop Girl". It was so much fun spending time with Keith and Darren beforehand and then at the shoot. Plus we got to see so much of what goes on "behind the scenes". Since we have been watching so many movies lately- namely Steven's quest for seeing all of the AFI top 100 and all Best Picture winners- it was so great to see first hand what goes on.

Steven even had to improvise some lines about a Blazer game and that was out of his comfort zone! But I enjoyed it a lot. I have no lines but I think I have a close up and I will be credited! :) Major excitement on that one.

Yesterday was his first day of filming. He's got about 13 days of principle photography and then there will be editing. Chris (the master mind) has a "behind the scenes" blog series on his blog Art vs. Science which I linked to our page. I can't wait for him to post the latest as it will probably include scenes from our shoot.

Other stuff:
  • Not a lot going on around here. Still looking for work and all the joys that come along with that.
  • Helping Mom with her re-decorating kick and I'm making her a shower curtain using my Martha Stewart Craft Encyclopedia! I'm very excited for this project.
  • Just planted my yearly herb garden. I have mint for the first time!! Mojitos here I come! I'm looking forward to nice weather so I can get out with the camera and play.
