Its been a while now, and time for some updates:
- We had a wonderful Fourth of July weekend, complete with traffic jam on I-205, a last minute trip to KFC ( I need to have fried chicken one day of the year), lots of explosive fireworks, and trips to both of the homesteads. In all it was a great way to spend three days off work.
- We've been enjoying the fruits of Mom's labor...her garden is huge and we're reaping all the benefits. The lettuce alone is worth the drive out there...but there are also herbs, peppers, zucchini, corn, broccoli, green onions and a whole lot more! I can't wait for more to come up. We spent most of the holiday weekend drinking mojitos with fresh mint from the garden. Delicious! Also, I have a salad with the lettuce at least once a day...yummy.
- I finally got all the program materials bought (Thanks Tara for scoping out the goods for me) and then this weekend Mom and I got them all cut up and did a couple of samples. I have to say watching something that exists only in your head come to life in front of you is a pretty amazing thing. I'm really happy how they turned out and even more happy that Mom and Gma are going to put the rest together for me.
- We have ants again. A new lady moved into the apartment below us and she had to have the people come spray...which makes them want to come into our place. So now I have to spray. I seriously do not like ants.
- The favors are done and finished. I think everyone is going to love them. They turned out fantastic. Another thing that was totally in my head and is now done and finished and sitting on the ping pong table waiting to go to the site.
- I'm down to millions of last minute calls and schedule making and packing up wedding stuff and writing out instructions for the people setting up. But this is a good thing.
The wedding is almost here and we're ready for it. Steven and I are just ready to get married and go on vacation. When we get back, I think we'll start looking for a house. I've been having dreams about it lately (more so than usual!)...so I think its time. Mostly that's it. We've just been trying to survive the unbearable heat in our apartment (with no A/C) and work our way through phone calls and meetings and appointments and being nearly weds.
But don't feel too bad for us, we're still going to Hawaii in ~30 days! We could not be more excited about that.
