Our Wonderful Years...

Over the course of the average lifetime you meet a lot of people. Some of them stick with you through thick and thin. Some weave their way through your life and disappear forever. But once in a while someone comes along who earns a permanent place in your heart.

Brown hair, brown eyes. When she smiled, I smiled. When she cried, I cried. Every single thing that happened to me that mattered, in some way, had to do with her. After all, she was my girl. And I knew that she understood that in some small way my achievements were her achievements.

Happy (early) Birthday Steven!

I returned back to Portland Friday afternoon shortly after 3 PM. In a whirlwind we were out of the airport, on the freeway and speeding home. We dropped off my stuff and scooted out the door for a special night on the town that I've been planning for months!!

We got ourselves downtown, in a cute little parking garage and had, arguably, the nicest day to walk around downtown! We walked around the block a few times before deciding on eating at Pastini Pasteria for dinner. We treated ourselves to a glass of Pinot Griggio and lots of yummy pasta, PLUS tiramisu for dessert. It was so yummy we could not resist. Then off to Nordstroms to look for some dress shoes for Steven (ok, so I looked at shoes for me too!) then walked to our final destination: JERRY SEINFELD. As long time fans of the show, I was sooooo excited when I found out he'd be coming to town through a coworker that I camped out on the ticket master website all morning the day they went on sale. The payoff? I got PERFECT seats. We had the most unobstructed view. It was awesome. Then they announced the opening act- Larry Miller (better known as the Dad on "10 Things I hate about you". He was almost funnier than Jerry.

Probably our favorite lines of the night were:

" Since I've had kids involved in Little League, I'm not afraid of terrorists anymore. Osama Bin Laden could have 1000 suicide bombers lined up and we'd say- Here are 850 mothers that just found out their sons didn't make the All-Star's team. Your move." -Larry Miller

"When you get off the plane in Portland, instead of 'here's your lei', its 'here's your bike helmet.' Have a nice stay."- Jerry Seinfeld

Steven snapped this on his camera phone in passing on our way out the theater. It looks pretty good! The perfect Portland Friday Night! We capped things off with martini's at home :)
