At the beginning of April we celebrated my Dad's 60th birthday with a family trip to the Coast, just like we used to when we were kids.

We enjoyed crabbing and actually caught just enough to make for a good weekend. We were the only people in the whole complex who were actually carrying coolers and cooking in the big crab cooker. Dad was so happy to be the "one who got something"... It seems like too often we're the ones disappointed. It felt good to win! The boys did all the hard work. Good work guys. It was Colin's first time crabbing.

It was a moderate weekend, we had patches of sun and patches of rain, but we didn't let that keep us down. The boys were prepared with rain gear.

We hit the aquarium and were surprised to see just how much it's changed. Look for a whole blog on the "Passages of the Deep" exhibit. It was so incredible! They have art like this all over the complex, it is made up of garbage that has washed ashore on the beaches near the aquarium. It was so detailed, I wish we had more close up photos.

I love this bridge. Steven took this photo. You can see just the smallest little patch of bright blue.

What's a birthday without presents and cake?

Shelly had this cake done especially for Dad. It is the MOST delicious chocolate cake EVER. I'm seriously hooked.
It was a lovely weekend and everyone had a fantastic time. Of course, we finished things off with a trip to Aunt Belinda's Candy Shop and hauled out enough treats for the whole condo complex, but man it is so fun to be in a candy store!
Happy 60th Dad! We love you SO much!
