Our Wonderful Years...

Over the course of the average lifetime you meet a lot of people. Some of them stick with you through thick and thin. Some weave their way through your life and disappear forever. But once in a while someone comes along who earns a permanent place in your heart.

Brown hair, brown eyes. When she smiled, I smiled. When she cried, I cried. Every single thing that happened to me that mattered, in some way, had to do with her. After all, she was my girl. And I knew that she understood that in some small way my achievements were her achievements.

Annnnnddddd I'm Back!

Wow. It is February already!

Well its been quite a week. I got back from Montana on 1-30-09 and worked the next week. Mom and Shelly had their birthdays and on Thursday I got a phone call saying I was needed back in Billings...so here I am.

We had a great weekend though. I spent Friday baking in the kitchen, I made sea salt caramels which were delicious, if time consuming to make and some Devil's Food Cupcakes. I put some in a tupperware for one of my girlfriends. We exchange little gifts every year. She dropped by to pick them up and we got to chat and I got to show her around the apartment. Steven and I relaxed and watched "The X-Files".

On Saturday we went out to the Casino with Mom and Dad, Shelly and Chris and Grandma and Donna. We were celebrating Mom and Shelly's birthdays. We had a great time playing machines with Grandma and taking turns doing our little ritual button pushing things. We ate at the buffet and had a really good time. Dad and I stocked up on desserts to make up for losing a couple of bucks, but it was really fun to do a sampler platter with him :)

Sunday Steven and I got to go to the Blazer game with Darren, his brother and a few friends. We totally misjudged how to get there on the freeway and were almost late, but ended up getting there right on time and had a great time. They even pulled out a win at the buzzer. It was pretty exciting.

By the time we got home I had just enough time to pack and we woke up this morning early to get to the airport. It's been a long day but I'm happy to be getting home in time for Valentine's Day. Steven's cooking me a fabulous dinner. Now I just need to find a good dessert to make! Ideas?
