Our Wonderful Years...

Over the course of the average lifetime you meet a lot of people. Some of them stick with you through thick and thin. Some weave their way through your life and disappear forever. But once in a while someone comes along who earns a permanent place in your heart.

Brown hair, brown eyes. When she smiled, I smiled. When she cried, I cried. Every single thing that happened to me that mattered, in some way, had to do with her. After all, she was my girl. And I knew that she understood that in some small way my achievements were her achievements.

June Pt. 4:

As if the rest of the month wasn’t hectic enough- I rounded the month out with a Saturday night trip to the Theater. My good friend, and former colleague, Shelley G had an extra ticket to “Rent”. It ended up being the Broadway cast and everything for the show- so I was super delighted when she offered me the ticket- ages ago!

In an attempt to repay her kind gesture, (she is seriously too nice) and to add to our “Girl’s Night Out”, I treated us both a magnificent dinner at Fenouil in the Pearl. Fenouil is a super fabulous French restaurant in the Pearl District. I was shocked at how beautiful the inside is and the ambience is to die for. The restaurant itself is situated on a corner next to a park, so sitting outside you get the full effect of a French Bistro, being able to people watch people in the park! The inside is decorated in black and white with long white table cloths and impressive detail work. I have to go back and sit inside to give a full description!

We were even presented with an “Amuse Bouche” when we were seated (a “Mouth Pleaser”, small pre-appetizer)-so cool! I was even more delighted to order sparkling wine of the day as Champagne is a “Girl’s Night Out” tradition! We finished off a spectacular meal by sharing a chocolate soufflé (with crème anglaise sauce and grand mariner chocolate sauce accoutrements) and I had a lavender martini. So yummy!

Then the show itself was simply delightful. For a story that seems to have such a “downer” vibe to it, the music really brought it to life. I have to say that I really enjoyed the entire thing. I’d recommend it to anyone- themes probably not appropriate for smaller children though.
